Catamount is a quantitative trading firm built around a different proposition, that high performance and psychological safety aren't opposites. They attract and retain people who want to push the boundaries of trading without the constant fear of being cast out for a single mistake.

A firm built for explorers, not survivors.

THE CHALLENGE

Quantitative trading has an image problem. The industry runs on pressure, hierarchy, and a culture where mistakes are career-ending. Catamount wanted to recruit elite talent by offering something the sector had never credibly promised before the freedom to perform.

This identity was developed as a concept direction during a competitive pitch process at SLIK Digital in 2024. The strategy and visual language presented here represent the direction we developed and proposed.

We positioned Catamount around "The Explorer" archetype, framing the work not as a corporate grind but as a frontier to be navigated. Precision and adventure aren't contradictions here; they're the proposition. The brand needed to feel like somewhere the best people in the world would actually want to work.

From high-pressure to high-performance. The same rigour, a completely different culture.

VISUAL DESIGN

The identity translates that strategy into a visual language. A sharp geometric mark paired with a modular venture badge system. A nature-inspired palette, defiant against the sterile blues and greys of financial services. Complex performance metrics rendered as clean, elite interfaces. Every decision moves the narrative in the same direction: serious work, done by people who choose to be here.
